DPS the "Demo Print System" is
an experimental inkjet print driver, aimed at driving an Epson R1800
printer. The source code is licensed under the GNU General Public
License. The intention of the project is to include a complete, state
of the art printing pipeline, including a comprehensive color
management system (base on Argyll), a calibration system, a flexible
multi-level screening system, as well as the necessary drivers for the
Epson R1800 printer, including soft weaving, and Escape P driver. Many
of the intended features are designed to make it a test bed for
researching and developing color profiling and calibration tools.
Initially it is coded only for the Epson R1800, although some view is
given to generalizing the drivers at some later stage
Currently this project is at a very early stage of development, with
only some sub-sections complete. For those interested in tracking

of the 0.1 release is here. This includes a working stochastic
screening system.
